A Portrait of Our Graduates
LCA's mission is Equipping Leaders for Christ. This is accomplished by developing students spiritually, academically, and personally in a close-knit, relationship-oriented school community, preparing graduates for postsecondary education, the marketplace, and leadership in their homes, churches, community, and vocation.
Spiritually
Students are challenged and encouraged spiritually such that they:
- ›Know and love God. (Deuteronomy 7:9, 10:12; Matthew 22:37; John 17:3; Philippians 3:10)
- ›Love their neighbors as themselves, respecting others and themselves as image bearers of God. (Genesis 1:26–27; Matthew 22:39; Romans 13:9–10)
- ›Pursue a growing relationship with God through an active prayer life, the study and application of Scripture, and service in God's church and world. (1 Thessalonians 5:17; Mark 10:43–45; Colossians 4:2)
- ›Internalize a biblical worldview and are prepared to give an answer to anyone who asks to give the reason for their hope. (Romans 12:2; Colossians 2:8; 1 Peter 3:15)
Academically
Students are challenged and encouraged academically such that they:
- ›Value and seek knowledge, wisdom, and understanding. (Proverbs 1:1–7, 9:10; Luke 2:52; 2 Timothy 3:15)
- ›Gain competence and fluency in oral and written communication; creative expression; and biblical, global, historical, mathematical, scientific, and technological literacy.
- ›Think critically, analyze and evaluate information, solve problems, and draw conclusions and applications across multiple subject areas. (1 Kings 4:29; 1 Chronicles 12:32)
- ›Apply the research process, discerning truth from error. (1 John 4:6; Ecclesiastes 12:13–14)
Personally
Students are challenged and encouraged personally such that they:
- ›Develop consistent Christian character evidenced by integrity, the fruit of the Spirit, peacemaking in relationships, wise decisions, godly leadership, and a heart of respect for authority. (Galatians 5:22–23; 1 Peter 3:8–12)
- ›Demonstrate courage and perseverance in the face of adversity. (Deuteronomy 31:6; Joshua 1:9; 1 John 5:4–5)
