Tuition & Financial Aid
Affording a Legacy Education
At Legacy Christian Academy, we believe a high-quality, Christ-centered education should be accessible to families who share our vision. State scholarship programs, SGO tax credit scholarships, special needs funding, and LCA's own need-based financial aid can help many families reduce out-of-pocket tuition. Eligibility, award amounts, and how programs combine are determined by the school and the State of Ohio.
Step 1: Base Tuition & Fees
| Grade Level | Base Annual Tuition | PSA* | Total Annual Base Cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| 9th Grade – 12th Grade | $11,501 | $1,872 | $13,373 |
| Kindergarten – 8th Grade | $9,573 | $1,558 | $11,131 |
*The Per Student Assessment (PSA) covers essential academic materials, facility costs, and student life activities.
Step 2: Multi-Child Family Discount
If enrolling multiple full-time students, one discount is subtracted per family:
- −$2502 enrolled children, total per family
- −$1,5003 enrolled children, total per family
- −$2,0004+ enrolled children, total per family
Step 3: Estimated Ohio EdChoice Expansion Award
Ohio K–12 students may be eligible for an EdChoice Expansion Scholarship based on household income. Eligibility is determined by the State of Ohio.
Provided maximum award estimates (up to 450% Federal Poverty Level):
- Grades K–8: up to $6,166 per student
- Grades 9–12: up to $8,408 per student
Sliding scale: Families earning above 450% FPL may receive a prorated award that decreases as income rises. Confirm your actual award with the State of Ohio. This estimator does not guarantee a minimum award.
These amounts are figures provided to the school, not a verification of current state award levels.
Step 4: Estimate Your Out-of-Pocket Cost
Total Base Tuition & PSA − Multi-Child Discount − Estimated EdChoice = Estimated Net Tuition
Monthly payment plan: net annual tuition divided by 12 payments, June through May. A 2% discount is available for single payments paid in full by June 1 — because the eligible amount isn't specified, the estimator doesn't apply it. Ask the school to confirm the basis.
Family Tuition Estimator
Nonbinding estimate. Excludes application, activity, and FACTS fees. Nothing you enter is saved or sent anywhere.
Additional Financial Aid Opportunities
Scholarship Granting Organizations (SGOs)
Ohio allows individuals and businesses to turn state tax liability into scholarship funds for non-public school students. LCA partners with two SGOs offering need-based scholarships:
- OCEN SGO (Ohio Christian Education Network): need-based scholarships to LCA families through donors using Ohio's tax credit program.
- LEAF SGO (Lutheran Education Assistance Foundation): supplemental tuition assistance awards to eligible students.
Jon Peterson Special Needs (JPSN) Scholarship
If your student has an active Individualized Education Program (IEP) through their public school district, they may be eligible for the JPSN Scholarship. Award amounts vary by the primary disability category in the IEP, and funds may be applied toward specialized services and tuition at LCA. Whether JPSN can be combined with other awards such as EdChoice must be confirmed with the school and the State of Ohio.
LCA Internal Need-Based Financial Assistance
LCA operates a need-based financial aid program funded directly by the school for qualifying families who need help beyond state awards. Apply through FACTS Tuition Management; FACTS charges a $45 application processing fee.
